You must have heard about the slogan “A diamond is forever”. And you must have seen rings or pendant necklace on an engagement or a wedding, or a diamond  can be a earring component. But do you know from whence we started to have the tradition?


Actually it can be dated back to the middle of 20th century. Till then diamonds are not that popular among couples. Then several commercial companies worked together and made some investigations and started this plan which has haunted numerous people which is equalizing diamonds with promise and love in a marriage and they made people believe the larger the size of the ring is, the longer and deeper love can be. Besides its physical characteristics, this is also concerning with that “A diamonds is forever”.

In terms of the quality of diamonds, one common criteria that many people used to access a diamond is 4 C’s including carats, color, cut, and clarity. The 4 C's not only provide verifiable information about the quality of your stone, they also make it possible to make your diamond traceable. When you are going to buy diamonds, you will always get a certificate that proves the value of your diamond.

Among them, the most frequently heard one may be carat. It refers to the weight and the size of diamonds. Generally, 1 carat equals 0.2 grams. Though the carat weight can sometimes seem to differ due to different cutting methods, it will always express the same weight.
In addition, some people may also care about the heart an arrows of the diamond. It is a term about diamonds that means when all the facets are in harmony, the result is a repeatable and nearly perfect pattern of eight symmetrical arrows when the diamond viewed from the top and eight symmetrical hearts when the diamond is viewed from the bottom. But since there isn’t industry standard, there are also people who disagree on this standard.
